The team at gymBUG has a vast wealth of experience in the fitness industry and between us we have managed over 100 health clubs over the past 20 years in the UK.

It is the aim of gymBUG Ltd is to enrich the lives of the local communities by providing access to premier leisure facilities, employing inspirational people and innovative programmes. In order to assist in achieving these aims a not-for-profit organisation, Waterside Community Leisure was appointed to manage the operation at these facilities.

Q: Who are gymBUG?

Q: Go on then, tell me, what’s the catch?

Well quite simply, there isn’t one! gymBUG has removed the facilities that are the most expensive to build, maintain, and operate – namely the wet facilities of pool, steam, sauna and spa and we have focussed on a first-class fitness offering. The elements we have removed are important to a relatively small percentage of members but insignificant to the majority, yet normally everyone has to pay for them. This helps us to drive down the cost and pass on the saving to you.

Q: Am I tied into a contract?

It’s up to you. Our best priced memberships require a minimum period of membership of 12 months, but if it’s flexibility you require, then non-contracted memberships are available for an extra few pounds per month.

Q: What are your opening hours?

Mon – Thurs 6:00am – 10:00pm
Friday 6:00am – 9:00pm
Sat/Sun 8:00am – 6:00pm

Q: What equipment will you have?

The gym is kitted out with the very latest equipment by Technogym the world’s leading kit supplier. There is tons of cardio equipment including a massive 24 treadmills, a huge free-weights area, a great functional training space and much more.

Q: Will there be someone to show me how to use the machines?

If you are looking for specific one-to-one training, we have personal trainers on hand that you can hire by the session to help you achieve your goals.

Q: Is there a car park?

Yes. There is a large car park in front of the gym that we share with Lidl. There is a 2 hour parking allowance for anyone using the gym or shopping in the Lidl store.

Q: Do you have classes?

Yes, we do. We offer a programme of classes including bootcamp and spinning that are results-based i.e. that have a big focus on helping you to achieve your fitness goals.

Q: Do you have gym staff?

Yes we do. Unlike many other low-cost operators, we have a staffed reception area in the club and trainers working on the gym floor at all times.

Q: Are there any changing rooms?

Yes there are. Our changing areas have lockers, showers and hairdryers for members to use.
